A Stroll Through Milano
Milan is a city that invites you to stroll through its smart, elegant streets and have a nosy in all the chic boutiques scattered throughout the Vías Alessandro Manzoni, della Spiga, Monte Napoleone as well as Vía Santo’Andrea which marks the end of the luxurious “Quadrilatero della la Moda” – Fashion Block.
And that’s that in a nutshell. So, taking advantage of the time they had before they caught their flight back to Barcelona, Lluïsa and Chone wandered along these pleasant little lanes as they enjoyed an ice cream (an absolute must!). They came to a halt in front of a little cake shop and went in to buy “La colomba pasquale” (sounds delicious doesn’t it?). This version of the panettone bread is traditionally made at Easter and takes the form of a dove, studded with citrus peel or dried fruits; gilded with a shiny coat of sugar-nut syrup, then sprinkled with almonds and pearl sugar. The Duomo Cathedral is also definitely worth a visit. The roofline dissolves into openwork pinnacles that are punctuated by a grove of spires, topped with statues that overlook the city and finally a must to visit are the famous galleries where Walter Benjamin ambled, reminiscing.
