The dishwasher: tips for placing it functionally in the kitchen
Considered the king of kitchen appliances, the dishwasher requires a detailed study of the available space to determine its best location. Indeed, an improper placement can hinder the washing process, making this essential kitchen task unnecessarily tiring. For this reason, Deulonder pays special attention to this appliance, which could almost be said to form a stellar trio alongside the sink and the cooktop.
Of course, its installation depends not only on the sink but also on the waste area, since the typical dishwashing sequence involves scraping leftovers into the bin, rinsing dishes to remove any remaining food, and finally loading them into the dishwasher. The most common arrangement, therefore, is to place the dishwasher under the counter next to the sink, with the waste bin on the opposite side—ideally in a tall pull-out drawer for greater comfort.
Furthermore, once the dishes are clean, the storage area for tableware should be located close to the dishwasher. To optimize the process of unloading and putting away dishes, it should ideally be possible to do so almost without moving your feet. If that is not feasible and the distance is considerable, a small trolley can be a practical solution.

You should always consider leaving a space for support before putting dishes in the dishwasher.
In this case, the layout of the space does not facilitate the washing sequence, as the elevated position of the dishwasher door makes it difficult to carry out the workflow comfortably. As can be seen, there is no room to stand in front of the sink to handle the dishes and other utensils.
Here we see a proper way to position the dishwasher. Thanks to a sufficiently wide support area that allows the door to open comfortably, the workflow can be carried out smoothly.
Another proper way to install an elevated dishwasher is by taking advantage of a corner layout, creating a fully lateral workflow. The raised position of the dishwasher is undoubtedly the most ergonomic option. In this case, a countertop space of between 40 and 60 cm should be planned between the water connection point and the side of the dishwasher.
