On the occasion of the celebration of Halloween, a party imported from the United States to the delight of children, we propose an easy to prepare recipe for decorated cookies, a fun way to pass the time and to transmit to the smallest pleasure of cooking

We asked Bettina Röhl, painter and excellent cook, looking at her personal cookbook a recipe to make halloween cookies with children in an easy way and with a guaranteed result. Here are the ingredients we need :

• 100g azúcar
• 225g harina
• 150g mantequilla sin sal
• 1 huevo
• 1 cucharadita de extracto de vainilla
• Una pizca de sal

To begin with, switch on the oven and heat it to 180 degrees. In the meantime, mix all ingredients, sugar, flour, butter, egg and vanilla in a bowl and knead until a smooth texture.

Then sprinkle flour to a surface and knead the dough vigorously for at least one minute . Divide the dough into 2 parts and cover with plastic wrap, put it in the fridge for 1 hour.

Sprinkle flour to a flat surface to work and with the help of roller stretch out the dough and then the second one. The idea is to leave about 5mm of thickness .

Now comes the part that children prefer : the decoration. Bettina recommends Royal Icing, a product that is ready to use and very convenient . We mix the desired colors and make the edges with a hose and nozzle size 2 or 3. Let dry and use a more liquid consistency of icing sugar to fill the interior of the cookies, using this time a nozzle size 4.
