Milan Fair: novelties in the world of decoration
The Milan Furniture Fair is one of the essential annual events for Chone de la Sotilla and Lluïsa Deulonder, who always find a source of inspiration. Here we show you some interesting new ideas of the last edition here.
From the 4th to the 9th of April it was held in Milan the annual Furniture Fair, one of the most prestigious in the sector and an event to which Deulonder never fails. Whatsmore, this year the faire specialized in kitchen design and had 1,100 exhibitors from around the world spread over 150,000 square meters.
They make the most of small spaces without hiding anything. One of the features that have been detected by the two interior designers is the way to maximize space. So, anywhere you used to store utensils, such as ladles and small casseroles or for instance in 10 cms depth is enough to put the cups and pots of species and bottles. Needless to say, it gives a very interesting “cosy” feel.
XXI century kitchens are full of details, such as a hanging light kneading work on the island. Ideal for pizzeros!, without forgetting the interiors of the drawers, with wood and with a space for each utensil.
Another upward trend are natural stone countertops, and here Italians are the number 1. We’ve been in love with many very original models.
The wood is again the star material for the kitchen, while in terms of colors, generally the tendency is for sober and neutral tones against which take more highlight the decorative elements.
It was equally important to visit the fair as the Brera district, full of design studios which, in occasion of the fair, open their doors to visitors and a very festive atmosphere is created.
Next year Chone and Lluïsa have already decided to spend one more day because with only two there is not enough to discover all that the city offers.
