The creative emotion of DISFRUTAR, awarded with the Michelin triplet in a record edition for Catalonia

The restaurant DISFRUTAR, commanded by Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro and Mateu Casañas, obtains the third Michelin star and jumps up the category. The three former chefs of El Bulli thus obtain this new recognition, just a few months after being crowned the second best in the world, behind the Peruvian Central. They have also won the National Gastronomy Awards for Best Chef 2023 by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy 2023. El Mejorar, which opened its doors in 2014 and since 2018 had two Michelin stars, offers avant-garde cuisine that does not renounce its roots. Mediterranean. DISFRUTAR joins the four Catalan restaurants that already have the triplet: Celler de Can Roca, in Girona, and Àbac, Lasarte and Cocina Hermanos Torres, in Barcelona. Josep Roca, for his part, has been recognized as the best sommelier in the entire State.

A total of 55 restaurants out of 281 are in Catalonia (20%), spread across the four provinces. With two stars there are seven, and with one star up to 43 restaurants. Quirat and Soto are the establishments that received the first Michelin star.
