Chone de la Sotilla and Lourdes Adell attend the presentation-event of the book “Walls” in Vilafranca

The publication of the decoration guide Walls (Paredes), by Oracdecor, has been the reason for the celebration of an event in which Chone de la Sotilla and Lourdes Adell have participated this December. The volume focuses on the decoration of the walls, one of the most important elements of the room. As stated in the presentation text: “A creative design on the walls conditions the mood, emphasizes the emotions or creates an optical illusion that alters the proportions of the room.”

The event consisted of an interesting visit to the cellars Can Bas and Pere Ventura , in Vilafranca del Penedès, a 4×4 route through the vineyards and the presentation by the commercial director of Oracdecor in Spain, Víctor Valentín, of the book Walls . Valentin drew a parallel between winemaking, which requires a lot of patience and a good dose of love and dedication, and the creativity of decoration studios that, with good materials —like those in the Paredes – they shape the environments until they get a good result.

These vineyards have more than two thousand years of history. The farmhouse, built on an old farmhouse, has been dedicated to viticulture continuously for hundreds of years. The winery only works with the wines that are grown in the lands of the domain. Cabernet sauvignon, xarel·lo, syrah … in the great domain of the Pere Ventura family different varieties of wine are grown, all of excellent quality.

In Can Bas, the winery is “sacred” and the part that requires the most investment. The best crude oils are aged in wooden casks before packaging them in bottles.

The visit to this historic winery in one of the most prestigious wine-growing areas in Catalonia ended with a tasting of three made in Can Bas cavas.
