The yummiest food can be found in Olot
Olot hosts this weekend of October the 5th edition of Orígens, an ideal fair for gourmets wanting to discover new flavors
Trying, buying, but also participating in different cooking courses are some of the activities that can be done at the fair Orígens, which has gathered for five years the best producers in Catalonia in various fields. You can find everything from olive oil to sausage, jams, cheeses, fruits, bread … Everything is of the most excellent quality, and for that reason Deulonder likes to visit the fair every year.
One of the most interesting aspects of the fair, which every year brings together a larger audience, is the possibility of seeing «in action» the great chefs of the moment cooking their creations. Some of the Classrooms proposed this year (Saturday 19th) will be offered by Iolanda Bustos (La Calèndula, Regencós) and Evarist March (Can Roca Winery, Girona) to talk about «Wild plants and flowers, from field to plate»; Gerard Cifra (La Quinta Justa, Olot) and Jordi Ferrer (Pastry Ferrer, Olot) to talk about «Dishes and desserts of the volcanic kitchen» or Sacha Hormaechea (Restoring Sacha of Madrid) to talk about «pure seafood «.
In the tasting room you will be able to discover interesting aspects such as «what is behind an infusion?» And an autumn beer tasting with Roger Cisa and Dani Ruiz (Breewhome), as well as cocktails with volcanic gin and Ratafia with Ratafia Russet (Olot). There is also an ecological space and a classroom for children where they schedule various activities related to cooking throughout the day.
About sixty exhibitors will give life to the new edition of Orígens to be held at the Olot Fairground, Calle Madrid, 2, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The ticket costs € 5 and include tasting 5 products offered by exhibitors. All the programming can be consulted on the web www.firaorigens.cat
