A small but great kitchen in Cerdanya
A small but great kitchen in Cerdanya
This beautiful kitchen located in Cerdanya stands out for its unique combination of a subtle mountain aroma, accentuated by the use of slate, and a modern and elegant style that characterizes it. Although it is not large in size, this kitchen is designed to maximize space, resulting in it being fully equipped and optimized to satisfy all culinary needs. One of the most notable features are the doors and fronts of the furniture, which are made with slats in a soft gray tone, providing a contemporary and refined touch. In addition, it is important to highlight that each of the furniture has been painted by hand, which adds an artisanal feel.
The hood, custom built in wood, integrates perfectly into the design, encompassing the cooking area and becoming a focal point of the space. On both sides of the hood, two light points have been installed that effectively illuminate the countertop, creating a cozy and functional atmosphere. Likewise, the hood is covered with slats in a delicate Deulonder color, harmonizing perfectly with the entire space and contributing to the general aesthetics of the kitchen. Without a doubt, this space is not only a place to cook, but also an elegant and cozy refuge that invites you to enjoy special moments.

The kitchen floor is imitation slate, while the countertops, in the same tone, are black Neolith. The handles have an aged bronze tone and the lighting details are black, matching the floor and the wall covering, which are also lined with black Neolith.
In front, you can see the typical Cerdanya window made of natural pine wood. On both sides, we find a pair of wall lights that illuminate the preparation area. Overall, the entire countertop is very bright. The island is closed by a double-glazed panel with fabric framed in iron and oak.
In the centre of the kitchen there is a small island with a raised top so that you can have breakfast and lunch sitting on beautiful wooden stools upholstered in the same colour as the sofa and the dining room chairs. The island is closed off with a glass panel.
In the background you can see an open piece of furniture that rests directly on the counter, designed to store everything you need for breakfast: cups, coffees, teas, the coffee maker, etc. You can see that the top of the island is also made of Neolith.
On another of the fronts, taking advantage of the generous window, the stainless steel sink has been placed to match the taps. Next to the sink, the tall drawer with the recycling bins has been placed, as well as a cutting board on the worktop. The window includes a small shelf to put some flowers or decorative candles.
Main entrance to the house with a sliding door that closes the hallway. As you can see, the kitchen's wall units are also covered in slats, a feature that gives the space a lot of personality. In addition, there are cupboards that house the arrival wardrobe and a cleaning and pantry cupboard, which are fully integrated.
In a cozy little corner located just under the stairs, we find a bench that invites you to sit down and a hanger designed especially for hanging coats and jackets upon entering. This space is not only functional, but also becomes an ideal place to get organized. Just below the mat, there is a folding door that allows access to a storage area, perfect for storing various objects and keeping things tidy. The interior of the space is decorated with wallpaper, which adds warmth and character to the place. Without a doubt, this corner is an example of how aesthetics can be combined with functionality, becoming a pleasant and very practical space for the home.
The dividing element in the middle is the same as the one that gives the width to the island in the kitchen: it is a double-glazed panel framed in iron and oak wood. We incorporated the oak to soften the hardness of the iron. On both sides there are sliding doors that are behind the screen. In this way, a double passage is achieved. In fact, the entrance to the house is through the hall that leads directly to the kitchen and therefore it was important to create a pleasant and aesthetic environment.
The panel allows the spaces to be separated in a harmonious and practical way, since it allows the kitchen space to be completely closed off or the side passages to be left open. To organise the dining area, a bench has been designed that covers the entire window and at its ends a plasterboard structure has been made to measure for some recovered pine doors. These spaces, with shelves also made of pine wood, serve to hold crockery and glassware to support the dining area.
You can see one of the side steps that connect the dining area with the kitchen, two separate spaces that share the same aesthetic.
The dining table is made of brushed wood with large legs that allow the chairs, which are upholstered in the same tone as the sofa, to fit easily.
The dining table is located next to a large window, which provides a flood of natural light. Two stylish and modern lamps have been installed as electric lighting.
