A space to work and sing
An extraordinary space
The owner of this beautiful sewing room designed by Lluïsa Deulonder comes from a family that formerly worked in the textile sector on the Costa Brava and was homesick for that environment made of looms and colored threads. So, now that she is a grandmother—a young grandmother!—she wanted to take up sewing, embroidery and crochet as a hobby. The space has been exclusively designed to respond to the needs of this needle and thread lover, and we can say that this room makes a long-held dream come true. One of the features of the room’s design is the fact that all the furniture is equipped with wheels, so that it can be relocated according to space needs.
A sofa to crochet
A comfortable sofa has been arranged for crocheting, and two tables together with sewing machines. The central table is higher and is equipped with a pattern system and illuminated with two lamps.
On one wall you can see a practical board with hooks to organize both the threads and other small materials and utensils to have everything at hand and well organized. A rug covers the central area and must be cleaned because it is synthetic. The furniture is lacquered green that combines with the oak wood.
On the wall, open shelves allow you to store yarns and bobbins of different colors. A dressmaker’s mannequin could not be missing.
The low tables have little drawers to store small pieces. The floor, like the rest of the house, is from Cumellas. A bar has also been installed to hang fabrics.
